Barack Obama WON! (ok, so this is a little too late of a news, sorry for that). That’s one less thing I need to worry about for now - a good president in the white house. I’m sure that McCain was a good man in person, we just don’t need to worry about him having the same views as Bush, and certainly we don’t need to worry about him dying and then having Palin as the new president. Imagine the President of the World’s Most Powerful nation didn’t know the Africa is a continent. Or do not imagine it because there’s no need. Thank goodness! So for now I am taking a deep breath that there’s hope for us. Maybe a new leadership is what we all need to get us out of this mess. Hopefully I wouldn’t have to worry so much that now I can really think about conceiving and not worrying about the world that I would be bringing the baby in to… Let’s have a good weekend. I’ll start posting daily stuff again next week.

So tomorrow is election day 2008. Time for all of us (if you haven’t done so) to go out and exercise our right, acknowledge this wonderful privilege of being able to vote for who we think would be the better of the two contenders. In my previous posts, you saw who I would most likely vote for. Let’s make that VOTED for. That’s right. I already made my mind, filled out the ballot and mailed it last week. I can’t wait for the results. This country really needs change that they can believe in. You may not trust the new guy on hundred percent, but at least give him a chance. He’s already better than the current one.

Last night I looked at my husband and I noticed that he was looking a little glum and the first thing that came to mind was “uh oh, did he get fired?! We can’t afford to get fired, we just got the house!” No, he didn’t get fired. He’s too good of an employee and a very valuable one, too (thank goodness!) but he did say that because of the state of the GLOBAL economy, there’s a big chance that his company is going to start laying off people next year. Eeks! That won’t be good! But it seems inevitable, and that’s the sad fact. This state of the world’s economy is just bringing everybody and everything down. We personally don’t have a reason for it YET but we’re starting to get depressed. Yeah, depression! It seems like that word’s all over lately.
I wish the change of the US administration would give instant relief to everybody and we really need CHANGE. Get it?

I am getting depressed just reading/hearing about the economy, the politics etc. As much as I am a little annoyed with how this whole bail out bill got passed to become a law, I think it will be better for me to take a deep breath for now and just see where things go in the next few weeks/months/(years??). I want to blame the big investors who didn’t think first before getting into the sub-prime market business, I want to blame the greedy little nes who thought that just because there were some stupid people managing our country who was giving loans to whoever wanted it, that they also deserved to live in a $500,000 home even though they could barely afford a their $1000 rent, I also want to scream “UNFAIR!”, but I know it’s not gonna do me any good. It’s now Monday and the stock market plummeted down yet again. As taxpayers, We’re paying for the $700B, that better take us to somewhere more pleasant than where we are right now. I think all these stress about the current state of our nation is contributing to our (me and the hubby) unsuccessful attempts to make a baby. L

So I watched the VP debate last night hoping to see some car wreck or something. After seeing the very funny SNL spoof of the Palin-Couric interview, I was hoping to see a little bit more of the same just for pure entertainment. But, alas, I was let down. Gov Palin actually showed that she could handle it, you know, if she was given enough time to study. But nothing that I saw and heard last night from her made me change my view of her. She didnt show the knowledge, the capability and respectability that I want from my leader. Yeah, she was cute, she winked, betcha and darned it, but F her. That didnt sway me to vote for her/her ticket. She’s scary. Imagine her becoming the president of the US! She did not respong the questions that were asked, she just kept repeating the stuff she had memorized. I commend her as a woman being able to handle the pressure and going up against the big guy, but I just know that she’s not the right woman for the job. B- for effort.
