Hey Potts,
thanks for the note! :) yeah, I think we'll try to wait until next year to figure out what our next move will be. It's true about the ridiculous expenses. We haven't spent as much as you had because our health insurance covers half of it, but I know how expensive it could get. I have spent about $800 and that is just for the initial tests with 50% off! The last time we went for the consultation to review the test results, I thought was part of the first consultation. After 15 minutes of talking to the doctor and we're on our way out. The receptionist called us and asked us for our payment! We were not expecting that. There's another $90 down. Are you doing this through your health care provider or using private doctors? Good luck!

To be honest with you, I have had all of that stuff done and more. When I switched doctors, the new one told me I was going to have to have all of the tests done again. I asked her if she had my test results from the previous doctor, and she said she did. I couldn't figure out why I was going to have to do this all again when all of my tests were prefect so far, until I asked doctor #2 how much this was all going to cost considering it's all out-of-pocket expenses. She told me, "Oh, it will be about $40,000," like that was nothing. I replied with, "Really? $40,000? And you're not even going to get me pregnant? You're just testing me?" She says, "That's right. It's a requirement before we can give you anything." So by then I was pissed. I said, "Who the f*** makes these rules and requirements?" Her reply was, "Our office does." This is not something that a healthcare board says. They do it to make money. It's a money game! And we wonder why we can't afford healthcare. So, just a though, but see about doing something different. If the Clomid works for you...GREAT! No one will give it to me. I have spent nearly $30,000 of my own money trying for 5 years to get pregnant. My biggest concern is that my husband is 40 (I'm 27) and that he won't be around to see his child graduate or get married because he's working with heavy equipment every day. They don't want to hear that the process needs to be sped up a little. Just think about it before you consent to any more tests. One woman to another--I hate to see what's happened to me happen to you. Questions everything--motives, practices, cost, etc. I hope things go well for you and I hope your efforts receive great rewards. Just think about what I've gone through before you take another step if the Clomid doesn't work. Best wishes!
